| I'm curious what the "Bestway site proposal" is? Does this refer to the parking area? or is the business gone and something else possibly moving in?? |

No change to the Bestway Market, nor to Don Juan's. Some of us would like to see the lot behind the Bestway and Don Juan's (on 17th Street) fixed up to look nice. Sounds simple, but there's plenty of controversy behind that. At this point, Bestway has a proposal to fix up the lot, endorsed by Mount Pleasant Main Street. We want to hear the details.
Because this is "public space" (an unused portion of 17th Street), any request for permits will, in due course, come to the ANC. I've encouraged the parties to come to us before applying for permits, so that we can have some input to the design, and so we'll be prepared to approve it without dispute when it comes to us.

Dear Neighbors,
To accommodate any misunderstanding, ANC1D is holding open the special election until 7PM (ie, now 2 to 7pm). The regular monthly meeting starts at 2pm.
We have arranged for the MtP Branch Library's Ground Floor Meeting Room and its Lobby to be open until 7, with the entrance from the handicapped ramp on the 1600 block of Lamont St. (Thanks to Ellen Kardy!) The General Counsel of the Board of Elections this afternoon approved this change in ending time.
Respectfully,
Gregg Edwards
