Should people be wondering about that huge congregation of police cars at 19th and Lamont last Friday --
A young (19) woman in the 1900 Lamont apartment house, with a history of epileptic seizures, evidently had a severe seizure while alone, fell in the bathroom and hit her head. Her grandmother found her body some time later.
The young lady's sister became hysterical on the site, and struck a police officer who had refused to call an ambulance, the victim being quite beyond hope. This brought an avalanche of squad cars. In time, the police took pity on the sister and declined to press any charges.
Among the officers on the scene was Lieutenant Robinson, one of the two excellent lieutenants in charge of PSA 302. Of course the MPD worried extensively about the possibility that this was a homicide, but there was no evidence to support that hypothesis. I believe that the medical examiner has confirmed that this was a natural, if terribly premature, death.
