I am wondering if anyone knows what the heck happened on the bottom of Irving Street over the weekend of Jan 12-13. There are several cars parked along the road that looked like they've been massively sideswiped or crashed into. Thanks.

In the early morning hours on Jan 14, 2002 there was a vehicle that crashed into several cars on Irving St NW and several cars in the 1400 block of Harvard St NW. I think it was a total of 24 cars and trucks that were damaged before the driver was found and placed under arrest. The driver of the car did have insurance and a letter was left on all the cars that were involved in the incident with information on what happened, the report numbers, and a number to call if they had any questions.

Can you tell us if this was a result of a police car chase, just wreckless driving, excessive speeding, driving under the influence, or ? We seem to have a lot of speeding on Irving.
