I think I saw a note from Jack about an over anxious MPD officer ticketing in our neighborhood. If so, they completely avoid the 1800 block of Newton. Why?
There has been no ticketing all summer and the nursing home staff takes full advantage, parking for 8 to 10 hour shifts. Not to mention the dramatic uptick in those gaming the system by securing temp visitor passes from MPD.
Parking is worse and only going to decline further.
With school opening approaching and the addition of ten new residential units on this block, what can be done to provide residents with some relief? |

annoys me. I avoid it at all costs. For some reason, I've had bad luck driving through there. There are always all sorts of trucks and vans parked on the street, even when there is parking nearby. And by that I mean, people "standing."
In many cases, these cars prevent traffic in one or BOTH directions from flowing. I think it's really rude. I see the nursing home van doing this many times, even though they have a driveway! |
