For those of you who don't know, there is a Mt. Pleasant Listserv at [email address removed - log in to view].
Please join to reinvigorate the public discussion here in the neighborhood and press your ANC representatives to post more of the activities of that group (with a link, perhaps to minutes, agendas at other sites) to the Yahoo listserv.
The advantage? The information comes to you--you don't have to dig in several other locations to find it; it will help to better inform the community; and it will encourage comment on what is happening in our neighborhood before, rather than after, events take place. |

I've been aware of the yahoo group for as long as this forum but I find the yahoo group not as user friendly. Unlike this forum, the yahoo topic threads are not grouped in easy to use groups and subheadings. Also, there seems to be a lot of information fed through the yahoo board that has nothing to do with Mt P - such as the two recent topics "GA Ave Holiday Party" and "REMINDER: 6th Annual Upshur Street Handmade Art & Craft Fair"
The forum allows users to subscribe to the topics that interest them. In that way, I am able to control the volume of messages fwd'd to my email. I'm not saying it's a perfect system but, personally, I find it much more user friendly than the yahoo group. And, if I am interested in browsing for information about PSA or ANC meetings, that information also is readily available in the forum. |
