This morning a teenage boy and girl came to my door. The girl was carrying a rolled up scrap of carpet, said she was delivering my carpet, and showed me a piece of paper torn from a spiral bound notebook on which was written in large print my correct address along with the name of someone unknown to me. I told her she must have the wrong address, I did not order any carpet, and I never heard of the person listed. She said OK, and the two of them promptly left the grounds of the Rivendell.

This could be a simple mistake, but last week, I saw a flyer posted in Mount Pleasant saying that people have been using various tactics in the neighborhood to determine whether or not anyone is home in a suspicious manner. And I understand there has been an increase in burglaries recently in the neighborhood.

It turns out one of my new neighbors gave my address to some kids who were doing some cleaning for him because his address is harder to find. Strange, I know. It was apparently a legitimate mistake. Sorry for the false alarm.
