The Mount Pleasant Main Street (MPMS) Association's "Road Trip" Movies in the Park Series (sponsored by CricKet and the Mount Pleasant Business Association) continues in Lamont Park this Saturday, Aug. 7.

Mark your calendars and get out your lawn chairs to view "Ride the Divide," a documentary about the world's toughest mountain bike race along 2,700 miles of the Continental Divide. This will be the premier public showing of the film in the District of Columbia.

Local cycling groups and clinics will be present in the park prior to the showing of the film.

On Saturday, Aug. 28, MPMS will show "The Brave Little Toaster," a family-friendly, animated film. On Saturday, Sept. 11, MPMS will join forces with the Latino Association of Mount Pleasant to show "Salt of the Earth," a 1954 blacklisted film about labor rights and immigration.

Films begin at dust. Participants are encouraged to purchase food from local vendors and restaurants for a picnic meal.
