Around quarter to 1 Sunday afternoon a late teens/early 20s African American youth stole an elderly woman's purse on the 1800 block of Irving. He knocked her down and dragged her along the sidewalk, bumping her head in the process. By the time I made down off my porch and across the street he had jumped into a dark blue Acura and was speeding away. The car had Maryland plates: 8CA-J12.
The lady had a good size bump on her head and was shaken up, but seemed to be alright all things considered. |

| You don't mention that you called police or describe their response. |

The mid-day hold ups always disturb me greatly, especially in busy areas. But an old lady?! Good God! I continue to be shocked by the callousness of these thieves. There is a special place in hell for them! _________________ - Jenn |

Tom,
The police and ambulance arrived fairly quickly. They took the info then gave the lady a ride home since she didn't want an ambulance ride. Unfortunately, I assume they probably didn't get what I expect was a stolen car in time to nab the suspect. I also couldn't provide a very good description of the guy either as I never got a real good look at him.
My cell phone had no service so I had to run across the street to my house to call 911. That probably slowed the response a bit, and I didn't think to call livelink. The 911 operator did answer immediately which was nice. I called in a crackhead breaking into a car on a Saturday night once and was on hold for several minutes, allowing the guy to get away.
