What is up with the dumpster and the barbed wire fencing on Kenyon St. next to the 7-11. Do they really have a permit for all that space? Why do they need the barbed wire fence (I've never seen that on any dumpster in the neighborhood). Why is the barded wire enlosure so big (2X the size of the dumpster)? Seems to me they just created a private parking place for their pickup truck and port-a-potty. Why is this allowed on such a narrow street? I've seen many cars backing up since the travel lanes are interfered with and 2 cars can not easily pass each other. This is ugly, unnecessary, reduces parking by too much, and interferes with traffic.
Any insights? |

That's not the 7-11's dumpster. I understand that this has been placed there for the use by the LEDC -- the Latino Economic Development Corporation -- in support of their facade project for Mount Pleasant Street. I am dismayed at how long it has sat there, taking up valuable parking space, with little work apparently being done.

| It's been filled with building parts and emptied a couple of times now so I guess some work is being done. I have been seeing a lot of action going on (truck in and out, dumpster filling) though I couldn't quite tell where it was coming from. |

Well, I'm glad to hear that some work is being done. Improved facades should then become evident. -- Jack |
