Call them up right quick and tell them that you've got a meter reading problem. My mistake was letting this go for many months, after which I got a cumulative bill for the whole period. -- Jack |

Cryptic, yes. Here's my guess at an interpretation:
Meter number 49551445
Prior read date 5/10/05
Current read date 8/28/06
number of days 45
Prior read 0
current read 257
usage ccf 257
usage gallons 192,236
read type acutal
This has to be July 2006 through 8/28/06 -- 45 days -- but the water consumption is insane. Nobody uses 257 cf in 45 days. If I take the two numbers to be crossed, so that this consumption corresponds to 399 days, then the average is 0.64 cf/day, which is still high. (My average is about 0.4 cf/day.)

This has to be the short-term reading, not the year-plus. If this is a 45-day reading, then the average is 0.20 cf/day, which is way low.
Call them up, and demand a coherent explanation, not only of the numbers, but why you're getting this "adjusted" 399-day usage bill.
